Just discovered this page not too long ago.. not sure if anyone visits it anymore, though, since no one's posted anything in a while. But I thought I'd write something anyway!
Anyone go to the Kingston show last week? It was my first Worms concert, and I was ridiculously excited for it (and I was not disappointed!) I've been a casual fan for a while, but it was just a month or two back that I fully realised their brilliance, and thus absolutely had to go see them :P
But anyhow, the show was fabulous and I had an amazing night! (And I think I earned the Worms a couple of new fans, in the form of a couple of friends I brought along.) Now my only problem is that I can't wait until my second concert! (whenever that may be... there will be one, though! )
If anyone's interested, I may have a go at writing some sort of review of the show... but if no one's interested, then I won't bother :P
Anyway, I think that's all from me. 'Til next time!
For what it may (or may not) be worth, at least one person still reads this community, as you can see. I'm several thousand miles away from Kingston in the UK, though (assuming you don't mean Kingston-upon-Thames!) so can't really share any memories of the concert. (A Canadian friend sent me Live Bait
years ago; I'd have gone to at least one date on the UK tour had a stupid combination of events not meant I didn't know it was happening until after it had ended...)
Hehe, sadly I do mean the Kingston in Canada! (well, sadly for you, at least; obviously for me it worked out quite nicely) Shame that you missed seeing them, though. I've had that kind of problem myself with bands from your side of the Atlantic that rarely tour over here -- very frustrating!
i live in Toronto, saw them for the third time this past December. glad to hear your first Worms show was a blast!
Cool! I'm a little jealous that you saw them in December, since that means they probably must have played some of their Christmas songs! (love the Christmas album :P)
I have no idea how I missed this post the first time, but YES that concert was absolutely amazing. It was my 14th time seeing them, and damn...even after 14 times, it's still incredible. I was near tears when Steve and John came out, no joke.
I loved Trevor's comment about opening with a 1 hr powerpoint presentation...I'm a Queen's student too...it's sooo true....
Wow, 14? I'm impressed! (and a touch jealous, I will admit :P) And seeing Steve and John was amazing, yes! I wasn't expecting that at all, so I was pretty excited (though I did notice a 'mystery man' slipping backstage with a trumpet during the intermission, but.. I didn't realise who it was at the time. And while I'm on that topic, I quite liked the little brass medley as well -- never knew Mike played trombone!)
Haha, yes, that made me laugh. (as did basically the entire concert, but...) Powerpoints frustrate me, that's all I need to say :P
Me again! I posted a little (okay, it's not actually that little) entry thing, complete with lots of pictures from the concert! And some rambling. But anywho, if you want to see it, it's.. http://threepipeprob.livejournal.com/759.html
here, I think (I'm still trying to figure out how livejournal works, so hopefully that's the right link...)
