Worms show in Victoria
Mar. 18th, 2011 @ 12:00 am
Hey everyone! I went to see the Worms tonight in Victoria, B.C. I can't remember if it's the third or fourth time that I've seen them.
They were amazing, as usual. I noticed that the last person to post here saw them in Kingston. Mike said that to get from Victoria to Kingston, you drive north to Nanaimo, turn right, then keep driving for four days. (I think he missed the part about the ferry.)
The running gag tonight was bananas and banana peels. In downtown Victoria we have needle-disposal boxes, and the guys saw one with a banana peel on top. So all night they kept randomly mentioning banana peels, and at one point Mike came out with, "I'm on a banana boat with Satan."
YAY!! THIS COMM ISN'T DEAD!!
Are you following the new blog? OMG, let's be best Worm-friends forever!!!
*pant pant* Uh...sorry. Just got a little over-excited there. I literally laughed out loud at your post, though, both at Mike's line and the mental image of a needle-disposal box with a banana peel on top (it's like a metaphor for life!)
I've seen some pics from the BC shows -- I'm really digging Trevor's new haircut!
I saw them at the Feb 5 show in Kingston, that was pretty awesome. Still gotta finish my write up of that one...*wanders away*
New blog? I've seen their old blog but it hasn't been updated since 2006.
Yep - Trevor writes it and takes pictures. It's on their website
Yes, thank you, I found it! Funny, last time I saw them I live-tweeted the entire concert, but this time I decided to just sit back and enjoy the show and not tweet. Then I saw on their blog that they linked to people's Twitter accounts who live-tweeted the shows.
By the way, the "banana boat with Satan" remark came when they were talking about children's songs. All three of them were talking/playing at once, all different songs, and then Trevor and Chris stopped but Mike kept going, with his "I'm on a banana boat with SATAN!" line.
*jumps in* Ooh, yes, please do a write up! Wasn't it an amazing show? (sorry, I'm still on a bit of a high from the evening... I'm starting to doubt if it's ever going to wear off! I won't complain if it doesn't, though...)
I've got some pictures from it that I still need to put up somewhere (minus a lone one that I slipped onto facebook) Guess I'll do that at some point. Maybe :P
YES! Okay, that'll be a project for this weekend, then, it seems :)
Mind if I friend you? I've got a ton of Worms write-ups, though I'm incredibly behind (saw them I think 6 times in 2009, and didn't write up ANY of it *sob*)
Woohoo! And I can put up my pictures! In fact, you know what, I'm going to do that right now. Because I'm just that motivated. ...Plus it distracts me from the lab report that I haven't started and is due in the rather near future. (procrastination prevails!)
And sure, go ahead! You can be my first friend on here, this is exciting. (I use livejournal a lot, can you tell? :P) But oh dear! Well well, 6 shows would be a lot of writing-up, so mustn't be too hard on yourself you know!
Hehe, I like the directions! I'll have to use the reverse if I'm ever going to Victoria. :P Sounds like a great show anyway, glad you had a good time! Man, I need to see these guys again... it's barely been a month and I'm already craving more!
I think I need to see them at least twice a year. I was in a crappy mood all day but as soon as the show started the bad mood vanished.
Ahh, I know! They're fabulous at doing that. And the good mood lasts, too -- we got stuck in the snow on the way home after I saw them, and even while pushing the car and shovelling snow (out in the cold, at midnight!) I was still enjoying myself. (well, perhaps "enjoying" is a bit of an exaggeration... but I wasn't particularly bothered by the ordeal, at least)
